Cookie Policy

What cookies this website sets, what they're for, and how to control them.

The short version

This website sets a small number of cookies — one functional cookie for the private admin area, and Google Analytics cookies on public pages to help us understand which pages visitors find useful. We do not set advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

What we set

  • ns_admin_session — strictly functional. Set only after an NS InfraTech staff member successfully signs in at /admin/login. Contains a signed token that proves the session is valid. HttpOnly, Secure (in production), SameSite=Lax, 7-day lifetime. Cleared automatically on sign-out.
  • _ga, _ga_* — Google Analytics 4. Used to count visits and page views. We send Google an anonymised IP (anonymize_ip is on) and no personally identifiable information. Lifetime is up to 2 years per Google's defaults. Not set on the admin area or API routes.

What we don't set

  • No Meta Pixel, Hotjar, FullStory, or session-recording scripts.
  • No third-party advertising cookies.
  • No cross-site tracking pixels.
  • No persistent client-side identifiers in localStorage or sessionStorage on the public site.

If we ever add other tracking, this page will be updated and we will surface a consent prompt where required by law.

Third-party requests this site makes

A small number of third-party services are contacted by your browser when you use the site:

  • Google Analytics — loads gtag.js from googletagmanager.com on public pages and sets the cookies listed above. See Google's privacy policy.
  • Google Fonts — loads the Inter and JetBrains Mono fonts. Google receives basic request data (IP, user-agent) as part of normal HTTP traffic.
  • WhatsApp click-to-chat — used only if you click the WhatsApp button. WhatsApp / Meta then governs that conversation.

How to control cookies

On your first visit a small banner asks whether you accept analytics cookies. We use Google Consent Mode v2 with consent defaulted to denied, so analytics cookies are not set until you click “Accept”. If you decline, Google Analytics receives an anonymised cookieless ping for the page view but stores nothing in your browser.

You can revisit this choice any time via the Manage cookies link in the footer, or by clearing your site data and reloading.

You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking the admin session cookie only affects NS InfraTech staff signing into the admin area; it does not affect a regular visitor's experience.

The following browser docs cover cookie controls in detail:
